Social & Environmental Justice

A big part of Unitarian Universalism is acting on our principles. We do this through social action and education, as well as through monetary contribution.

Education

Movie Night

The Social and Environmental Justice Team (SEJT) coordinates a movie to educate the community on various topics. Recent screenings have included:

  • Bag It!
  • Shock Doctrine
  • Foodmatters
  • That Sugar Movie
  • Alive Inside
  • Cowspiracy

After Service Speakers Seriesfood water watch

Usually scheduled on fifth Sundays, the SEJT presents a guest speaker after the service. October's speaker was from Food and Water Watch and spoke about our local steam/gas injection oil drilling.

Supporting Fair Trade Organic Farmers

coffeeAfter service each week, we enjoy an hour of Food and Fellowship. Members volunteer to supply snacks and the congregation provides complimentary coffee and tea. We also have coffee, tea, and chocolate available for purchase.
